We are pleased to be able to offer Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders a brand new and exciting activity for 2020.
Girls will be given the opportunity to explore the lead mine at Gillfield, an amazing archaeological gem.
Gillfield Mine near Greenhow Village dates back as far as 1872, mining though has taken place in the surrounding area since Roman times. This makes it a fantastic venue to bring to life the industrial heritage of the area.
Walk, crawl and scramble your way through narrow passages and tight spaces with only a head torch to guide you through the darkness. You will have the opportunity to explore the history of the mine along with what conditions were like to work in. This is an underground adventure for all ages!

Where: Gillfield Mine
