North Yorkshire West have joined with their neighbouring North Yorkshire guiding counties and North Yorkshire Scouts to run some creative competitions while our units are suspended due the Corona Virus pandemic.
The first one for April is to send in a limerick poem the funnier the better. A famous limerick poem by Edward Lear is:
There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, ‘It is just as I feared!
Two Owls and a Hen,
Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!”
Prizes will be awarded to the best in each county and hopefully we’ll put all entries into a book of Limericks. Please email entries to: firstname.lastname@example.org adding your name, age, which unit you attend and a contact telephone number and email address.
