Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards

The sun shone on Buckingham Palace,London as our County President, Judi Jennings escorted three young ladies to the ceremony to receive their gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron of the DofE, HRH The Earl of Wessex, Trustee of the DofE, and HRH The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Award Foundation welcomed over 6000 people into the gardens of the Palace.

The DofE allows young people to develop skills that are transferable to the workplace. It gives young people the opportunity to evidence real life situations where soft skills are gained in applications and interviews. Over 100 top UK employers have endorsed a DofE programme for the skills and attributes a young person develops.

Issy Clarke, Lottie Chippendale & Tilly Vale all from Knaresborough Division completed the award with Girlguiding and we wish them many congratulations
